Landsted Story
"LANDSTED"
is derived from the Swedish term best translated as "haven, place to
escape from life's worries." When searching for a name for his fledgling
company back in the 1980s, Mark Erickson wanted something that was
distinct, meaningful, and reflected his Scandinavian heritage.
Nearly two decades
later, Landsted has grown into one of the most recognized and respected
custom design/build firms in the Twin Cities area. In fact, the Landsted
Companies have won more Reggie awards than any other custom builder east
of the Mississippi. We are blessed with hundreds of satisfied customers.
How has Landsted achieved such success?
Our credo, "First
we listen, then we build," means much more to us than just a clever
slogan. In fact, this phrase is at the core of the Landsted design/build
process, one that has been continuously refined. We have based our
process on respect for and careful communication with our clients in an
open forum that encourages both efficiency and creativity. This is
possible only because of the talents and years of experience our
design/build team brings to each project. We are a small company in
numbers, but not so small when our experience and accomplishments are
